The Adjunct Instructor will be responsible for teaching advanced manufacturing courses to include machining, quality, safety, production, and maintenance to selected senior high school and adult learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced manufacturing processes, and will be able to teach these concepts effectively to students aiming for careers in manufacturing. In addition to deliver of the curriculum, the instructor will mentor students, helping them prepare for the CPT exam and industry employment.
Duties
Teach Advanced Manufacturing & Certified Production Technician (CPT) Courses:
- Develop and deliver high-quality coursework in advanced manufacturing topics such as machining, quality, safety, production and maintenance.
- Provide hands-on training in state-of-the-art manufacturing labs, helping students develop practical machining, fabrication, and assembly skills.
- Ensure that students understand industry standards, safety protocols, and the latest technologies used in manufacturing.
- Teach courses that prepare students for the CPT certification exam, covering core topics such as safety, quality practices, manufacturing processes, maintenance awareness, and production systems.
- Provide instructional support and mentoring to students as they progress through the CPT training program.
- Administer assessments, quizzes, and practical exercises to gauge students' mastery of CPT concepts.
- Maintains mastery of subject matter, reflecting industry needs in curriculum development.
- Develops curriculum, teaching materials, activities, assignments, projects, and course assessments. Learns and uses technology during instruction.
- Advises students through registration, scholarship application, and testing processes. Maintains confidentiality of student information.
Prepares and schedules students to take and pass the MSSC Certified Production Technician exams.
- Supervises students in classrooms, labs, field trips, and during hands-on experiences. Ensures adherence to Code of
Classroom Conduct and Code of Student Conduct.
- Prepares lesson plans and delivers instructions to students. Evaluates student progress in a fair, consistent, and timely
manner.
- Modifies instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs; encourages the development of critical
thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Maintains the equipment to ensure it meets safety standards and readiness for instructions.
Career Preparation & Mentorship:
- Guide students through career pathways in manufacturing, offering advice on industry trends, resume building, interview
preparation, and career planning.
- Support students in obtaining CPT certification, helping them build confidence and the skills needed to enter the
manufacturing workforce.
Assessment and Reporting:
- Regularly assess student performance using written tests, practical projects, and assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit grades in a timely manner.
- Prepares and maintains course documentation (attendance, grading, rosters, section changes, class schedules) in
accordance with college policy. Ensures accuracy and timely submission to meet reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Two years of full-time or equivalent teaching experience in a high school, postsecondary, technical training environment or equivalent training experience in a corporate, industrial, or workforce development environment.
Experience with instructional technology, instructional design, and curriculum development.
Certification or equivalent experience as a Certified Production Technician (CPT) .
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and mentor students.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree
Three years of full-time or equivalent teaching experience in a postsecondary, technical training environment or equivalent training experience in a corporate, industrial, or workforce development environment.
Experience with designing and developing training or educational curriculum.
Holds one or more of the following certifications: OSHA, First Aid and CPR, Certified Production Technician, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt,
Electrical Journeyman card or license, Hazwoper 40 Hour certification, Siemens Automation Educator, Welding.
Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language
