Position Overview
The Department of Teacher Education at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of literacy for multilingual learners for the Fall 2026 semester beginning September 9, 2026. This position is to teach EDU 358: Literacy and the Bilingual/Bicultural Child.
Salary is $4,215.98 for a 3-credit course. Please note that a full course is considered to have 9 students enrolled in the course. If a section is not full, 8 or fewer enrollees, the salary is prorated based on the number of students enrolled in the course.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Masters degree in Education
Education & expertise in bilingual/multilingual education and literacy instruction
Demonstrated knowledge of strategies to support literacy development in elementary education settings
Demonstrated teaching experience of elementary or middle school grades, including the teaching of literacy and multilingual students
Demonstrated ability to support pre-service teachers in creating and implementing lessons.
Availability to teach on campus on Tuesdays from 4:30-7:10 pm
Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Graduate degree in literacy education
Experience as an instructor in higher education
Experience teaching at the college level with teacher candidates
Expertise in teaching multilingual students in elementary schools
