Position Information --------------------
The CNU College of Arts and Humanities is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach first- and second-year writing courses as needed for the 2025-2026 academic year. Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate coursework. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
Candidates for hire are required to complete a CNU-sponsored background check. Candidates will teach either ENGL 123 First Year Writing Seminar or ENGL 223 Second Year Writing seminar classes.

The English Department is at the heart of a liberal arts university. The major is an especially good choice for students who want to pursue careers demanding a high degree of cultural literacy and attention to language, such as graduate work in primary, secondary, and university-level teaching and scholarship, law, advertising, journalism, public relations, publishing, communications, diplomacy, and human relations.
Our students can choose between three concentrations: general BA in English, BA in English with a Literature Concentration, and BA in English with a Writing Concentration, and nine minors, led by dedicated faculty who are not only excellent teachers but also active scholars with impressive publication records.
