JOB SUMMARY:
Part-time adjunct teaching position available in the Social Sciences Department for CCRI's First Year Experience/PATH 1010 course. The PATH 1010 course is designed to help students develop skills necessary for success in college and in their careers and to encourage students to explore major and program options at CCRI. Topics can include development of vital "soft skills" like critical thinking, communication, and professionalism, accessing CCRI resources and support services, academic skill development (time management, note taking, and study skills), financial planning for college, career exploration, and utilization of CCRI student technology.

Instructional Skills:

Continue professional development as an educator.
Use advanced technologies to expand student resources and learning opportunities.
Assess student learning according to best practices in the measurement of student performance objectives and outcomes.
Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in pedagogical approaches to a diverse population of students and peers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in an academic field taught at CCRI or master's degree in student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher and Post-Secondary Education, Counseling, or related fields
Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Community College of Rhode Island
Experience with advising students
Willingness to complete a 5-week First Year Experience training module
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Student Success-related Pedagogy
Teaching Experience in Two-Year Institutions
Experience teaching First Year experience courses
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
