About the Role:

We are seeking a student-centered and engaging Adjunct Faculty member in English to teach English Composition (ENG1201) in a traditional on-campus classroom setting. This part-time role is essential in helping students develop strong writing, critical thinking, and communication skills. The faculty member will be part of a supportive academic environment and will collaborate with colleagues for guidance and support related to curriculum, course expectations, and instructional best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across course sections. For the Fall 2026 semester, there are three sections of ENG1201 available.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in English, Composition, Rhetoric, Literature, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Demonstrated ability to teach college-level English Composition
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience teaching college-level composition courses
• Experience working with diverse and/or non-traditional student populations
• Familiarity with current composition pedagogy and instructional methods
• Experience using classroom-based instructional technologies

Responsibilities:

• Teach 1 to 3 sections of English Composition in an on-campus, in-person setting
• Deliver engaging, in-person instruction that promotes critical thinking and effective writing
• Develop and/or implement course materials consistent with departmental learning outcomes
• Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Maintain accurate course records, including attendance and grades
• Be available for student support through scheduled meetings
• Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards
