The Virginia Commonwealth University College of Humanities and Sciences is recruiting a pool of applicants for possible adjunct faculty positions teaching courses within the Department of Gender Sexuality and Womens Studies during the 2025-2026 academic year. This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis. Your application will remain active until June 2026, and you may resubmit your application for subsequent years beginning July 2026. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Facilitate the course objectives • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions and rubric provided • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours • Submit final grades and mid-semester grades if required according to College Department policy

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Masters degree or PhD in Gender Sexuality and Womens Studies or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education • Prior teaching experience • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching courses within the Department of Gender Sexuality and Womens Studies curriculum

Salary Range $1437 per credit hour
