The Clinical and Mental Health Counseling department has an opening for an adjunct instructor. Under the direction of the Program Director, the instructor provides instruction for classroom and/or laboratory settings in coordination with the established course and program objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a strong desire to serve others, and a commitment to being a faithful steward of University resources. Commitment towards the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice. Experience and understanding of Christian higher education. Success in teaching at the university level. Participate and identify with the counseling profession through sustained membership in professional counseling organizations. Maintain certifications and/or licenses related to the counseling profession and specialty area(s); candidates should be fully licensed. Strong clinical supervision preparation and ability. Show evidence of sustained professional development and renewal activities related to counseling; professional service and advocacy in counseling; research and scholarly activity in counseling commensurate with their faculty role.
Education, Experience and Licensure:
Required Education: Master's degree in counseling or related field Preferred Education: Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, or in the process of earning a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision. Ideally the candidate has an earned doctorate (Ph.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program)
Required Experience: At least 5 years of teaching experience in course being taught and/or at least 5 years of specialized experience in the counseling or related field
Required Licensure: For faculty supervisors teaching practicum/internship courses, candidates must be fully licensed in the counseling field for a minimum of 2 years (LMHC, LCPC, LPC, etc.)
Preferred Licensure: Candidates should be fully licensed in the counseling field for a minimum of 2 years (LMHC, LCPC, LPC, etc.)
Candidates will be reviewed based on their qualifications for specific courses that they will teach.
