Blackwood Campus Department Dental Programs Days and Hours Days and/or Evenings and/or Saturdays Requisition Number Position Goals Job Description · Assess and evaluate dental hygiene students clinical skills during the following dental hygiene process of care procedures performed with their patients in the clinic. · Review of Medical-Dental History · Extraintraoral Exam · Oral Cancer Screening · Gingival Exam · Occlusal Exam · Hard-Tissue Charting · Periodontal Charting · Plaque Control Procedures · Treatment Planning · Scaling and Root Planing · Selective Polishing · Fluoride Treatments · Sealants · Radiographic Interpretation
· Observe and provide feedback to students during clinical proficiencies on all dental hygiene skills. · Exhibit knowledge of current technology in the practice of dental hygiene. · Consult with students, fellow instructors, and patients as needed in the instructional process. · Demonstrate professionalism and follow all policies and procedures for the Dental Hygiene Program Manual will be provided during training period. · Attend and participate in calibration exercises and meetings for clinic instructors. · Meet with Dental Programs Director and Clinic Supervisor to review program and department procedures. · Observe dental hygiene clinical instructors during patient care to attain understanding of clinic and educational procedures. · Follow accreditation guidelines and procedures as designated by the CODA and Dental Programs Director.
