The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at SJU is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory sections in General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry for allied health professionals (e.g.nursing students). The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and possess relevant teaching or professional experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field.Adjunct teaching one or more sections of a one semester General, Organic, and Biochemistry (GOB) lecture and/or lab at SJU's Lancaster Campus within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide support and guidance to students
Instruct an assigned course providing syllabi and other instructional materials
Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
Prepare and deliver course materials (lectures, labs, assignments, assessments) in alignment with departmental learning goals.
Maintain course records, grade assignments, and submit final grades in a timely manner.
Provide students with regular feedback on performance and be available during office hours or by appointment.
Adhere to departmental and university policies and deadlines.
Coordinate with course coordinators and laboratory staff as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree required.
