Our service area is the Westside of Los Angeles and the nearby beach cities. It stretches from Calabasas / Malibu / Topanga on the northwest side, across Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, and down through El Segundo, Hawthorne, Gardena, and Redondo-area neighborhoods. It also includes Beverly Hills, Bel Air, West LA, Culver City, Mar Vista, and Westchester.
So most of your work will be in the Westside and coastal LA area -- not downtown, not the Valley, and not Orange County.
Programming Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Salary Range $41,600 - $58,240 Annually

Alternative Adult Day Services, Inc. is an organization dedicated to supporting adults with different abilities through one-to-one adaptive skills training. Our mission is to enhance an individual's existing skills. They also may remedy an individual's skill deficits in communication, social function, or other skill areas, including, but not limited to, the following categories: (a) safety skills; (b) skills needed to access the community; (c) hygiene and dressing skills; (d) skills needed to access technology; (e) skill in making purchase in the community; (f) toileting skills; (g) feeding skills (including addressing picky eating, food refusal, and sensory-based issues with food); (h) some behaviors with minimum challenges; (i) choice making; and (j) Basic knowledge of various communication devices (k) specialty counseling.
AADS fosters independence, daily living skills and personal growth through community integration. Our services are provided under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Master of Social Work, Licensed Educational Psychologist and MS Educational Counselor with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS).
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Adaptive Skills Trainer (BA-Level) to join our community-based adaptive skills training team. This role provides individualized support to a Regional Center participant in accordance with their Individualized Program Plan (IPP), utilizing a person-centered and strengths-based approach.
Provide physical support for a wheelchair bound participant who benefits from structured assistance with adaptive skill development, including activities of daily living, toileting skill training, and community integration.
Ability to push, pull, and assist with mobility equipment and provide physical support to individuals weighing up to approximately 170 pounds, consistent with training and safety protocols. The role also involves responding professionally to occasional expressive behaviors that communicate frustration or unmet needs.
Services are delivered in collaboration with an attendant and under the guidance of qualified supervisory staff. Adaptive Skills Trainers are expected to implement established goals, document progress accurately, and follow all agency, Regional Center, and HIPAA compliance standards.
