Department: Rehabilitation Care – Inpatient/Acute Care
Reports To: Lead Physical Therapist
Physical therapist are movement experts who are responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, and all necessary documentation of all assigned patients of all age populations within the hospital setting whom have medical problems or injury that limit ability to move or function in daily life. Physical therapist is responsible for interdisciplinary communication including discharge recommendations, patient/family/caregiver education, and appropriate delegation of patient cases to licensed Physical therapy assistant (PTA) with appropriate follow-up. Provides oversight of Rehab Care Aides in inpatient setting. Other tasks as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an accredited college of Physical Therapy.
Licensure: Registered PT license, or eligible for license, in State of Georgia.
Experience: May be new graduate.
Skills: BLS CPR. Good communication and time management skills. Basic computer skills.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works inside a typical physical therapy treatment setting as well as on patient floors. May be required to work a flexible schedule. Exposure to hazardous chemicals and equipment found in a typical therapy setting. May work in outpatient department, inpatient department, or other community events. Rotates weekend / holiday coverage for Department.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT
Required to display characteristics consistent with registration requirements and ethical practice in Physical Therapy. Substantial amount of walking required. Frequent lifting, bending and reaching required. Moderate amount of stress.
