In this role, youll combine clinical skill with purpose, delivering patient-centered care and driving performance in a supportive environment. We are hiring for a nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration

At Harrison Memorial Hospital, our strong collaborative team includes 1 physician and 2 advanced practice providers, nocturnists, supported by a clinical performance nurse. Work alongside a diverse group of clinicians, bringing unique geographic, educational, and training backgrounds. We continuously learn from one another to approach patient care with fresh perspectives. As a new full-time team member, youll contribute to a dynamic, compassionate environment that values effective communication and teamwork.

  • Board-certified, eligible physician assistants.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling

Our daytime team works 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation, and our nocturnist APPs have a more flexible schedule. Ideally, we are looking for an average of 15 monthly shifts, but are also open to part-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex cases in an open ICU setting with intensivist in-house consultation available, focusing on acute patient care and procedures, though procedures are not required.
  • Participate in hospitalist shifts with APPs independently managing patients and admissions during the night shift under the supervision of a remote physician.
  • Engage in hospital growth initiatives with opportunities to contribute to committees and medical staff efforts to shape the hospitals future.
  • Collaborate in quarterly team meetings fostering continuous improvement and communication among team members.

Theyre driving the care for their patients but at the same time, they have that physician collaborator there. If they have a question or need another set of eyes on the patient, the physician is there to do that. This provides our advanced practice providers with the support needed to practice at the top of their license.
