Exciting Opportunity: Acute Care Pediatric Physician Assistant

Join our dynamic team in providing exceptional acute pediatric cardiac care in a state-of-the-art 44-bed inpatient unit. As an Acute Care Pediatric Physician Assistant, you'll play a vital role in managing high-acuity pediatric cardiac patients, including those with complex conditions like VADs, ventilator dependence, and post-transplant care. This position offers you the chance to work alongside dedicated multidisciplinary teams, delivering comprehensive care that makes a real difference in young patients' lives.

Required Skills:

  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with active certification
  • Critical care experience in a pediatric or adult setting, ideally within a cardiac or ICU environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex medical conditions safely and effectively
  • Proficiency in managing advanced devices and therapies such as VADs, inotropes, and ventilators

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with pediatric cardiac care or transplant populations
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Familiarity with ventilator management, chest tube procedures, and external pacing

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
  • At least 2 years of critical care experience, with a preference for pediatric or cardiac specialization

Other Requirements:
  • Current BC Critical Care Certification
  • Willingness to work 13-hour day shifts, with night shift coverage as needed
  • Ability to begin employment by July 20, 2026
  • Valid licensure, applicable travel or reimbursement needs considered
