    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

     

    Works under direction of Director of Activities by assisting in carrying through activity programs that are designed to meet the needs of every resident. Ability to work with staff and residents, maintain records, run entertainment programs for residents.


    Availability for weekends, holidays and evenings.

     

     

    SPECIFIC DUTIES:

     

    1.                  Assures that every resident is informed of activity program:

     

    A.                Posts monthly calendar on each floor.

    B.                 Distributes copies of monthly calendar to each resident’s room.

    C.                 Lists daily programs on daily board in lobby.

    D.                Announces activities, prior to beginning, on the PA system.

     

    2.                  Attends in-service programs as directed.

     
    3.         Maintains appropriate records relating to program attendance and individual visits.  Records comments in resident record as directed.
     
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

     

    4.         Other related duties as assigned.

     

    ·         Education:                         Ability to read, write and understand English

     

    ·         Work Experience:             1 year exp. in LTC Activities or as CNA

     

    Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of the use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.

    ·         Bending:               Assists in recreation programs

    ·         Pushing:                150 lbs in wheelchairs

    ·         Reaching:              Storage and decorating

    ·         Hearing:                In high or low tone, clearly to be understood by residents

    ·         Speaking:              In high or low tone, clearly to be understood by residents
