An Activities Director plans, coordinates, and leads recreational, social, and therapeutic programs to enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of residents or clients.
Role and Responsibilities
An Activities Director is responsible for designing and implementing programs that stimulate the mind, body, and spirit of the resident participants.
Key duties include:
Planning and overseeing recreational, social, and therapeutic activities such as arts, crafts, music, dance, exercise, and community outings.
Assessing the needs, interests, and abilities of residents or clients to create individualized and group programs.
Supervising, training, and scheduling staff and volunteers to ensure quality programming.
Maintaining accurate documentation of participation, assessments, and care plans in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Managing budgets, supplies, and equipment for the activities department.

Qualifications and Education
Certification as a Certified Activity Director (ADC) or Activity Professional - Board Certified We will provide your training for the above certification.
Hands-on experience in activity settings, which may include volunteer work, CNA experience, or prior roles as an activities assistant.
