Activity Aide Skilled Nursing Home

Cura Health is looking for a dedicated Activity Aide to join our Skilled Nursing Home team. In this role, you will support the emotional and physical well-being of our residents by organizing and assisting with activities designed to enhance their daily lives. You will work closely with nursing and therapy staff to ensure that activities are safe, inclusive, and tailored to meet the unique needs of our skilled nursing residents. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by fostering a vibrant and engaging community within our skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and implementation of engaging activities suitable for skilled nursing residents.
• Encourage resident participation in individual and group activities to improve socialization and cognitive function.
• Work collaboratively with clinical staff to tailor activities based on residents' health status and therapeutic goals.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for all activities.
• Document resident participation and response to activities accurately.
• Prepare and clean activity areas and materials before and after use.
• Provide compassionate support to residents during activities, promoting independence and well-being.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage elderly residents empathetically.
• Understanding of the physical and cognitive limitations of skilled nursing residents.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina to assist with activity setup and resident support.
• Commitment to maintaining dignity and respect for all residents.
