Midtown Oaks Post Acute is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and organized Activities Director to lead our resident-centered Activities Department.

What You'll Do
Program Leadership & Resident Engagement
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct a comprehensive resident-centered activities program
  • Create engaging monthly activity calendars that address residents' physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs
  • Coordinate group activities, special events, holiday celebrations, entertainment, and community outings
  • Encourage resident participation in self-directed activities, hobbies, crafts, reading programs, and recreational opportunities
  • Develop individualized activities for residents who are bed-bound, isolated, or unable to attend group programs
  • Assess resident interests and incorporate preferences into activity programming
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate regulations related to activities programming
  • Participate in state and federal surveys and assist with plans of correction when necessary
  • Ensure activity documentation and progress notes accurately reflect services provided and resident responses
  • Participate in resident assessments, care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Assist with supervision, scheduling, training, and support of activity staff and volunteers
  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, dietary, and administration to enhance resident quality of life
  • Participate in Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Safety Committee, Family Council, Resident Council, and department meetings
  • Foster positive communication with residents, families, staff, community organizations, and regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements for outings, appointments, and resident-related events as needed
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Activity Director Certification
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively engage with residents, families, staff, and community partners
Preferred
  • One year or more of experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, assisted living, memory care, or senior living environment
  • Experience leading resident activities programs
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to activities services in long-term care
