Activities Director - Residential

As an Activities Director, you will play a critical role in transforming lives and helping individuals regain their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises the daily recreational and social activities of the patients in the residential program.
- Supervises and supports Neuro Rehabilitation Specialists (NRS) in the administration ofrecreational and social activities in patient programs.
- Provides for the safety of patients, visitors, staff and self when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts, which can include yelling, exiting, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, scratching, and throwing objects.
- Performs toilet and chair transfers without assistance for patients up to 150 pounds utilizing approved transfer techniques. Transfer techniques include standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Patients requiring moderate to maximum assistance and weighing over 150 pounds are lifted and/or transferred by two persons.
- Be familiar with/uses special equipment as required by each patient, including, but not limited to wheelchairs, walkers, gastric feeding tubes, and smaller equipment including writing implements.
- Delegates job duties as needed.
- Assists with instructing Neuro Rehabilitation Specialist training and other in-service training sessions at the request of the Residential Rehabilitation Manager.
- Transports patients as needed in own or company vehicle requiring transfer and driving abilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Working knowledge of rehabilitative care is required.
- Experience in which potential administrative and supervisory competence has been demonstrated required.
- Activity Leader State Certification.
- Must maintain CPR, First Aid, and behavior training certifications.
- Completion of CNS Learn to Earn program preferred.
