Garden Gate Health Care Facility is looking to add an Activity Director to its team. In this role, you'll lead meaningful programs and activities that support resident engagement, emotional well-being, and quality of life. Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, and lead engaging individual and group activity programs tailored to resident interests and abilities
- Maintain activity documentation, resident care plans, attendance records, and required NYS DOH reporting
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, resident care conferences, and resident council activities
- Supervise, support, and orient activity staff and volunteers
- Assist with special events, community relations, and facility engagement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Approved by NYS DOH as a Qualified Trained Activity Leader preferred
- Qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Recreation Assistant preferred
- Minimum of two years of full-time paid experience in an activities program within a healthcare setting
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Compassionate and resident-centered approach to care
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
