Position Summary
Under the direction of the Activities Director, the Activities Assistant helps prepare, organize, and conduct daily activity programs that support the emotional, recreational, social, and spiritual well-being of residents.
This role plays an important part in creating a positive, engaging, and home-like environment for residents.
What You'll Do
- Assist with preparing and conducting scheduled group activities
- Transport residents to and from activities
- Provide activities and engagement for room-bound residents
- Record resident participation and responses to activities
- Assist residents with grooming and participation as needed
- Deliver and read mail to residents requiring assistance
- Assist with menu selections where applicable
- Support volunteer programs and community involvement
- Help create activity calendars, bulletin boards, and resident room personalization
- Communicate resident concerns or condition changes to appropriate staff
- Promote resident dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred
- Creative and enthusiastic personality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude with patience and compassion
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
