Job Summary:
We are seeking an Activities Assistant Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents/patients, considering their individual interests and abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents/patients.
- Provide hands-on assistance and support to residents/patients during activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
- Encourage resident/patient participation in activities and facilitate social interactions to promote a sense of community and belonging.
- Maintain accurate records of resident/patient participation in activities and any observations or changes in behavior or mood.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, therapists, and social workers, to integrate activity programs into the overall care plan.
- Modify activities as needed to accommodate the diverse needs and preferences of residents/patients, including those with physical or cognitive limitations.
- Assist with the procurement and organization of supplies, equipment, and materials needed for activities.
- Communicate regularly with residents/patients, families, and team members to solicit feedback, address concerns, and promote engagement in activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to activities programming and resident/patient care.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing activities programming in long-term care facilities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant CNA in the state of Florida.
- Previous experience in activities programming or a related field preferred but not required.
- Passion for working with older adults and individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
