Overview

Acquisition Analyst (H40-2026-25527)

Bowhead seeks a Acquisition Analyst to support a newly awarded contract in Dahlgren, VA. This contract will provide configuration management (CM), logistics, mechanical and electrical engineering technician services, field service support, project management, drafting and design, technical writing, and acquisition services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Unmanned & Expeditionary Weapon Systems (H40) Division and Intelligent Automation (H60) Division.

Responsibilities

Job Duties to include but are not limited to: 

  • Develops and reviews acquisition documentation, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS, and maintaining accurate data across procurement systems. Adept at contract monitoring, financial tracking, and risk management while collaborating with stakeholders to streamline processes and deliver mission-critical results.
  • Manage full lifecycle procurement and acquisition activities, including requirements analysis, solicitation, source selection and contract administration.
  • Draft and process Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAPs), procurement packages, and IT Procurement Requests (ITPRs) in accordance with federal regulations and agency guidance.
  • Prepare, review, and evaluate acquisition documentation such as Statements of Work (SOW), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), Justifications & Approvals (J&A), and market research reports.
  • Process and reconcile purchases using P-Cards and MILSTRIP requisitions, ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and accurate documentation.
  • Support budget formulation, financial tracking, and cost analysis to ensure acquisition programs remain within funding constraints.
  • Provide acquisition reporting and data analysis to senior leadership on procurement metrics, cycle times, and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Associates (or higher) in business or related degree AND five (5) years professional experience which includes two (2) years specialized experience in analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals, requirements, and objectives.
  • Experience with managing the full acquisition lifecycle for governmetn or military customer.
  • Experience analyzing new or proposed legislation, regulations, or requirements to determine impact on program operations, engineering design, or security.
  • Experience developing management and/or program evaluation plans, procedures, and methodology;analyzing and evaluating proposed changes in mission or operating procedures.
  • Experience with MILSTRIP
  • Experience with work management tools such as Atlassian, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in the utilization of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
