The Acetic Acid Process & Development Engineer's goal is continuous improvement in production capability, variable cost, product quality, process safety, environmental compliance, and reliability. They are responsible for understanding and supporting the development of innovative process technologies.Safety, Health & EnvironmentalEnsuring compliance with SHE standards and the INEOS Life Saving Rules and the INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety.Reducing/investigating plant Loss of Containment events (LOCs).Providing leadership in PSM and Environmental efforts including Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Management of Change, Risk Assessments and incident investigations.Input, evaluate and approve MOCs.Conduct PSSRs for MOCs.Participating as the process engineering representative in PHAs.Owning process safety information for the assigned process unit.Completing all assigned action items from PHAs, incidents, audits, etc. in a timely manner and updating status and plans.Delivering the INEOS 20 Principles for Behavioral and Process Safety, promoting plant integrity and personal safety.Day‑to‑Day Asset ManagementChairing the morning plant operations meeting for the Asset, setting agenda, allocating actions and ensuring follow‑up.Compiling nightly and weekend instructions, advising shift teams and supervisors of requirements and workload.Managing relationships with onsite tenants, key vendors and customers.Plant Upsets, Shutdowns & RestartsProviding an overview of planned and unplanned plant transients and supporting troubleshooting.Acting as single point of contact for operational aspects of plant restart audits.Developing plant isolation envelopes, procedures, preps and permits aligned to outage or TAR work scope.Managing the generation of permits.Serving as single point of contact for catalyst strategy development and implementation, including:Monitoring catalyst life and optimizing performance to meet MPR and efficiency targets.Working with catalyst/support suppliers and the Procurement Manager to define orders.Production Planning & Plant OperationOptimizing plant through monitoring PI data/trends, identifying process optimization opportunities, and maintaining a plant vulnerability list.Managing the operational variable cost budget and conversion efficiency performance, ensuring targets are met and deviations investigated.Updating the technical standards of plants annually to demonstrate continual improvement.Planning production weekly and monthly, coordinating with logistics planning and site operations to meet tonnage and efficiency requirements.Asset Operations ExpertiseReviewing and updating all operational documentation such as local emergency procedures, normal operating procedures, start‑up and shutdown procedures, valve & blank checklists, sealed valve lists, shift routines.Acting as approver for complex plant preparation procedures.Quality assurance role for AA process to ensure ISO9001 compliance.Providing input to Management of Change design and acting as MOC Manager when required.Developing critical operating procedures.Owning and managing the DCS Alarm System, trending and analyzing alarm data to reduce alarm counts.Defining, maintaining and tracking the operating envelope for the assigned process unit.Developing and maintaining process‑focused KPIs.Support for Operations Supervisor & Asset ManagerProviding cover for Operations Supervisor and Asset Manager roles as required.Process Technical SupportConducting engineering studies and troubleshooting processes to support manufacturing.Providing capacity evaluations of existing and modified equipment.Developing Process and Instrument Diagrams for new and modified facilities.Identifying process bottlenecks and developing projects for incremental capacity increases.Providing technical evaluations to support commercial development efforts.Designing plant equipment and process changes to meet safety, environmental, production, reliability, quality and cost goals.Education & KnowledgeB.S. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with prior chemical process manufacturing experience.5+ years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery.Knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental Quality issues.Statistical process improvement skills preferred.High familiarity with MOC, RCI, Risk Identification and Management.High familiarity with Aspen Process Simulation Tools, Aspen Process Explorer, PI Process Book.#J-18808-Ljbffr
