Position Overview:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a trusted financial role responsible for safeguarding company assets through accurate reporting, disciplined documentation, and adherence to internal controls. This position manages customer accounts, supports month-end close, and ensures the integrity of receivables data across the South Florida region. The ideal candidate brings strong ethics, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy in all financial processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile accounts weekly and monthly to ensure accurate reporting and proper ledger maintenance.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records and ensure the aging report is current; record daily collections accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports.
  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with internal controls and established accounting procedures.
  • Review customer credit limits and recommend adjustments based on purchasing and payment history.
  • Research discrepancies, aged items, and account variances; escalate irregularities or unusual activity to the Regional Controller.
  • Assist with the month-end closing process and support audit readiness through complete, accurate documentation.
  • Resolve outstanding issues with internal and external customers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Uphold company policies that are designed to protect financial data, ensure accuracy, and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Support team members as needed and perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of relevant experience (typically 4–6 years in accounts receivable or accounting roles) may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Experience in accounting or accounts receivable preferred.
  • Demonstrated integrity, ethical judgment, and commitment to maintaining internal controls.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy; able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
