ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE/CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST, WDL; FULL TIME - 1ST SHIFT - 117149 Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our WI DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORIES facility.FTE: 1.0*1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Casual*Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefitsShift: 1st shift (7:30 am - 4:00 pm)Summary Responsible for billing and follow-up of patient and client accounts based on working knowledge of regulations governing CPT codes, diagnosis codes, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial insurance guidelines. Researches and resolves pending and unpaid laboratory claims to resolution.Responsibilities Accurately interprets remittance advices regarding payments, adjustments and patient responsibility ensuring payment amounts and patient billing are accurate.Reviews Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs) / insurance payments where applicable to ensure money is posted to correct system.Inputs patient, insurance, and claim information into billing systems.Under the direction of Billing leadership, accurately works assigned work queues on billing systems, gathering missing or incomplete billing information when needed.Responsible for claims follow-up. Thoroughly researches reasons for denial, short payments, overpayments, recoupments, and/or refund requests to resolution.Professionally answers incoming phone calls (i.e. patients, clients, payers) providing accurate information regarding outstanding bill/invoice/claim or other reason for inquiry.Takes patient/client payments over the phone where applicable. Communicates to customers if additional information or research time is required and follows up within an acceptable timeframe.Has working knowledge of daily and payment reconciliation process.
