Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH), a long-established and highly respected healthcare provider and Federally Qualified Health Center with locations throughout Indian River County, FL is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team.
The Accounts Payable Specialist compiles and maintains accounts payable by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews invoices, check requests, and expense reimbursements for payment.
- Ensures all invoices and requests to be paid have the proper backup and approval, including purchase orders and packing slips, where appropriate.
- Codes invoices, expense reports, and check requests with correct general ledger account codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
- Analyzes and prioritizes invoices for payment according to cash discounts and potential payment terms.
- Prepares batch check runs and ACH transactions.
- Forwards to authorized signers for appropriate signatures.
- Receives signed checks and retains check stubs to be filed with supporting documentation.
- Processes remittance information from paid invoices provided by vendors, reviewing instructions accompanying items to determine proper disposition.
- Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports.
- Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
- Prepares analysis of accounts as required.
- Prepares expense reports by type to assist with detailed expense information summarized on the statement of activity.
- Handles all vendor correspondence via phone, mail, or email.
- Answers all vendor inquiries.
- Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and recurring bill payments, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
- Assists in monthly closings and audit work paper preparation.
Education and Experience: Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (accounting courses preferred); and two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
