Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible to support to Ministries through the collection and payment of invoices in an accurate and timely manner in order to keep accounts in good standing with the vendors.

What will I do as an Accounts Payable Specialist with Genacross?

  • Verify information entered from invoices at various Ministries is accurate and has the proper approvals in order to proceed with payment of invoices.
  • Run appropriate reports for accountant responsible for each Ministry in order to determine what invoices need to be paid each week. Accounts Payable Specialist will work with the Accountant to determine if sufficient cash exists to pay what is due.
  • Process timely payment for all invoices received in order to ensure accounts are kept in good standing with vendors
  • Perform month end closing procedures for all Ministries to ensure that the information entered into the Accounts Payable module is accurate.
  • Complete the Federal Form 1099 processing for each Ministry accurately and on a timely basis as determined by the IRS. This includes working with the Business Office Coordinator at each Ministry to ensure W-9s are on file for each vendor.
  • Maximizes the stewardship of all resources.

Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements:

  • Current State of Ohio RN/LPN License.
  • One to two years of experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic computer skills. Ability to learn new software applications as required by the position.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.
  • Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly.
