Ledgent is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Clerk with 2-3 years of experience to support our client in the greater Tampa Bay area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, and maintaining organized financial records. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and process weekly or bi-weekly check runs and electronic payments
- Enter and maintain accurate accounts payable data in the accounting system
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
- Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with company policies
- Support audits by providing required documentation and reports
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in an Accounts Payable or similar accounting role
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Working knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Skills
- Experience processing high-volume transactions
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
