Client Overview:
Our client is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive impact in the local community. They are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Finance team in a temp-to-permanent opportunity.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr - $30/hr

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support the Accounting department with high-volume accounts payable processing and general accounting functions. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for someone with strong AP experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
  • Process high-volume accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate AP records and documentation.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks and month-end close activities as needed.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment inquiries.
  • Support the Controller and Accounting team with additional finance projects.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:
  • 2+ years of high-volume accounts payable experience.
  • Experience with invoice coding and three-way matching.
  • Bookkeeping or staff accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV (or similar ERP systems).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:
  • Previous nonprofit accounting experience.
  • Experience supporting general accounting functions in addition to accounts payable.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
