Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of high-volume accounts payable

transactions within a utility construction contractor environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting field

operations, project teams, and corporate accounting by ensuring vendor payments, reconciliations, and documentation

are handled with precision and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned accounts payable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven

environment and demonstrates accountability, accuracy, and sound professional judgment.

This is an onsite position and part of a collaborative accounting team.

Job Description:

  • Process high-volume PO and non-PO invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform three-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice) within SAP Business One.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and proactively resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and compliance documentation.
  • Provide professional and timely support to vendors, field personnel, executives, and internal stakeholders

regarding invoice status and payment inquiries.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years of progressive accounts payable experience in a high-volume, structured accounting

environment (experience processing 1,000+ invoices per month preferred).

  • SAP Concur experience is a significant plus, though not required.
  • Demonstrated professional judgment, integrity, and discretion in handling financial information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to perform the Essential Duties.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work onsite in an office environment for extended periods, including prolonged sitting and computer use.

Ability to view and interpret information on a computer screen for extended periods.

Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, phones, and printers.

Ability to lift and carry office materials weighing up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Must maintain mental alertness and attention to detail while working under deadline pressure.
