Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary: $24 - $26 / hour
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Houston area. In this role you would be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and payments. You will ensure proper documentation, approval, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. We need someone who can play a key role in maintaining strong vendor relationships and support the overall financial operations of the organization.
Responsibilities:
· Process high-volume invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
· Verify invoice details, match purchase orders and receipts, and obtain proper approvals.
· Schedule and prepare vendor payments via check, ACH, or wire transfer.
· Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies or disputes.
· Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries promptly.
· Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end close processes.
· Process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies.
· Assist with 1099 reporting and year-end tax filings.
· Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
· Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
