Parish Tractor is seeking a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills to join our growing accounting team as an Accounts Payable Specialist. In this position, you will work alongside the Accounting Manager and other team members, supporting nine stores across four states from our Central Office in Hattiesburg, MS.
Responsibilities:
- Processes, verifies, and reconciles vendor invoices; charges expenses to correct accounts and cost centers
- Prepares and schedules vendor payments, monitoring discount opportunities and resolving discrepancies
- Verifies federal ID numbers and reconciles monthly vendor statements
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
- Maintains confidentiality of organizational information
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) or Google Sheets; FileBound or similar AP software experience preferred
- Accurate and efficient with financial computations
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and professional office etiquette
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Eager to learn and improve processes
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of accounting and/or accounts payable experience required
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
