JOB OVERVIEW

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain proper approvals of invoices prior to processing
  • Enter vendor invoices accurately and timely into accounting system
  • Prepare, review and process weekly payment run for approved vendor invoices
  • Professionally communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and address payment inquiries
  • Review and reconcile statements
  • Assess and apply use tax on purchases in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience: good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting experience in addition to computer skills and good numerical skills 
  • High degree of accuracy and has excellent data entry and oral communication
  • Must be able to work well with others and meet deadlines

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Problem Solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Planning/organizing – the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently

 

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position does not require travel.
