We provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, and permanent housing to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, and we pair that housing with wraparound services including life skills coaching, financial literacy, and career development. Our housing-plus-services model has delivered a 90%+ permanent housing retention rate for 20 consecutive years, and we currently support more than 8,000 clients annually. Job Details
  • Oversee and manage the full accounts payable function on a day-to-day basis
  • Review and maintain the expense side of the general ledger, ensuring accurate coding of expense accounts and program codes
  • Maintain AP files in accordance with established protocols
  • Serve as the primary liaison with vendors to build strong relationships and resolve any issues that arise
  • Prepare month-end accrual entries and ensure all AP functions are ready for month-end close
  • Collaborate with the finance team to establish budgets for upcoming fiscal years
  • Run weekly payment cycles and update cash requirements on a weekly basis
  • Work with the Real Estate and Data teams to verify accurate rental amounts and process monthly rent payments on time
  • Track and upload utility information across approximately 400 utility accounts
  • Reconcile utility accounts with active rental units, including connecting or disconnecting accounts as needed
  • Process monthly utility payments
  • Oversee credit card expense reporting and ensure all expenses are properly approved
  • Complete journal entries related to credit card spending
  • Manage the full 1099 process at year-end
  • Validate and input new vendors following established processes
  • Support financial analysis, special projects, and other duties as assigned by the Controller

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2,3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger coding, month-end close, and journal entries
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume vendor relationships and payment runs
  • Experience with 1099 processing and year-end reporting
  • Familiarity with utility account tracking or property/rental payment processes is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a shared office environment with prolonged computer use
