Winterwood is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable function across 300+ properties, ensuring accurate and timely processing, and providing leadership to the Utilities Accounts Payable Clerk. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and proven leadership experience.
Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 annually (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounts payable operations across multiple properties and bank accounts
- Supervise, train, and manage AP staff, including performance management and hiring
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, and leadership teams to support workflows and reporting
- Maintain positive cash balances and assist with weekly check runs
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment issues professionally
- Lead annual property tax billing and payment processes, including tracking and appeals support
- Reconcile accounts (e.g., petty cash, postage) and prepare journal entries as needed
- Monitor AP mail and ensure timely responses to inquiries
- Track outstanding payments and coordinate updates with AvidXchange
- Oversee utility allowance processes and annual 1099 preparation
- Identify and implement process improvements in partnership with Treasury
- Stay current on systems and software updates
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of accounts payable experience, with leadership preferred
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience managing staff and driving team performance
