JOB DESCRIPTION:
** Preparation of financial reconciliations, analysis, construction
work-in-progress ledger, mid-year and year-end closing entries and process.
** Preparation and presentation of the Turnpike System's financial information
as required by GAAP, the Department of Transportation (Department) and the
Department of Financial Services (DFS) requirements.
** Assist with the Turnpike's year-end and mid-year financial reporting closing
processes.
** These processes include, but are not limited to, the preparation of necessary
accrual, adjusting and/or correcting entries, analyzing pre-closing trial
balances for accuracy and appropriateness, and ensuring all Department closing
requirements are met in a timely manner.
** Research capital project expenses and reclassify them as fixed assets.
** Review and evaluate current processes relating to financial reporting and
reconciliations.
** Recommend improvements as deemed appropriate and develop action plans for
their implementation.
** Document policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
** Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
** Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness.
** Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
** Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and
procedures.
