The Treasury department is hiring an Accounting Technician I to join our team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Cash Office team is looking for an enthusiastic, accounting-minded individual with strong attention to detail and focus on excellent customer service. A successful applicant can demonstrate effective communication across a variety of platforms including in-person interactions, email, and formal written communications with a diverse audience. We expect dependability in being present at the workplace during business hours. The ability to produce a high volume of data entry accurately is critical. Last, but not least, we are looking for an adaptable mindset that is open to technology and modernization of our business processes.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm with a one-hour lunch. The office for this position is located on the first floor of City Hall.
Typical Responsibilities
Holding a key position in the Cash Office, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of technical accounting and review functions. The primary duties include reviewing cash batches for accuracy, posting cash batches and payments to the accounting system, uploading cash transmittals, and providing technical support to the Cash Office staff. Lead responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience:
Six (6) months of any combination of job-related post-secondary education and clerical or customer service experience in a job-related area.
Post-secondary Credit: Courses will be credited based on 3 semester/4 quarter hours= 1 month of experience.
