Position Summary

The Accounting Technician is responsible for managing and overseeing CIND's accounts and funds. The position completes monthly account reconciliation and billing, manages receivables, performs collection activities, oversees travel and supply expenditures, and provides support for various projects and reporting responsibilities as needed.

Duties include, but may not be limited to:

  • Preparation and review of monthly reconciliation reports to verify appropriateness of expenditures and ensuring compliance with university policy.
  • Managing invoice collections and preparing accounts receivable aging reports to facilitate collection activities.
  • Overseeing administrative duties needed by the center including ordering supplies and overseeing

maintenance contracts for equipment.

  • Developing action plans to address deficiencies and facilitate improvement to promote effective and efficient processes.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Management Preferences

Experience with university financial systems

Experience with compliance of accounting standards and regulations or program laws and regulations

Experience with contract grants and funds, or the ability to manage reporting of complex financial areas or programs
