Assignment Length: Approximately 6-Months, possibly longer.

DESCRIPTION

Our client is seeking a skilled Accounting Technician to provide temporary support to their accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience with financial transactions, and the ability to work collaboratively while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payments for vendors, contractors, employee reimbursements, and direct payments for internal and external entities

  • Serve as a liaison between vendors and internal departments to verify billing statements and resolve discrepancies

  • Prepare and process Journal Entry transactions for monthly and annual financial reporting

  • Support the annual financial audit by providing requested samples and documentation to Senior Accountants and external auditors

  • Maintain accounting records, including scanning, filing, and organizing documents for storage

  • Receive training in various clerical accounting duties and assist with additional tasks as required

  • Input and review financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies

  • Identify, research, and resolve accounting discrepancies

  • Reconcile accounts and prepare adjusting/closing entries (specific to Water campus functions if applicable)

  • Prepare and analyze schedules, statements, and reports using spreadsheets and financial systems

  • Perform calculations using specialized and complex financial data

  • Establish and maintain control systems to ensure financial accountability

  • Provide technical information and guidance on accounting procedures to internal staff

  • Assist in training departments on computer accounting programs

  • May supervise and train assigned staff

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or related clerical accounting work

  • Familiarity with GAAP and general accounting practices

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel and financial systems

  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently

  • Comfortable managing multiple responsibilities with accuracy
