Overview
Tyndale's Accounting Supervisor supervises and oversees the day-to-day operations of accounting and sales and use tax processes, while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and audit readiness of the Company’s financial records. This role is responsible for supporting the preparation of audited financial statements, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This opportunity requires onsite work a minimum of 2 days per week, and 3 days per week remotely. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale offices in City Centre, Houston TX or our headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County).

Responsibilities
- Direct the workflow and job duty assignments and provide supervision for the Staff Accountant(s).
- Onboard, train & develop direct reports.
- Partner with managers to provide accounting guidance primarily with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Oversee company’s sales and use tax process.
- Coordinate and gather information to be used for our Research & Development Tax Credit.
- Coordinate unclaimed property review with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Assesses and participate in testing of new system rollouts that have a general ledger impact.
- Participate in all financial audits i.e. year end, sales tax.
- Complete various monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Month-end departmental expense reporting.
- Coordinate record retention policies and procedures.
- Establish and communicate performance goals for direct reports; provide regular ongoing performance feedback and coaching; write and deliver Interim and Annual Performance Reviews.
- Motivate staff to achieve optimal performance and to maintain employee morale.
- Approve scheduled PTO, ensuring an adequate number of staff to meet work deadlines and requirements; track attendance of department staff and provide appropriate feedback and disciplinary action, when required.
- Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required;
- 3+ years prior staff management experience required or 2 years of related Tyndale experience at an "exceeds" performance level;
- 5+ years’ General Accounting experience.
- Strong attention to detail necessary;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the proven ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize;
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Office environment
- Primarily office-based environment with standard working hours.
- Frequent use of computers, accounting software, and Microsoft Office for financial analysis, reporting, and supervision.
- Regular interaction with accounting staff, managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing detailed analytical and supervisory tasks.
