Accounting Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing customer invoicing, cash application, collections, account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a proactive approach to resolving payment discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely.
Apply daily cash receipts, ACH payments, wire transfers, and credit card payments.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
Communicate with customers regarding payment status, billing inquiries, and account discrepancies.
Research and resolve payment issues, deductions, short pays, and unapplied cash.
Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation.
Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation as needed.
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies.
Support audits by providing requested documentation and schedules.
Assist with reporting and analysis related to receivables and cash flow.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Associate degree with relevant accounting experience may be considered.
2+ years of Accounts Receivable or general accounting experience preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and account reconciliations.
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Pay Details: $52,000.00 to $58,000.00 per year
