Accounting Manager

Location: West Hartford, CT
Compensation: Up to $135k DOE

We are partnering with a well-established organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join its growing finance leadership team. This opportunity has become available following an internal organizational restructure and offers the chance to lead a high-performing accounting team while partnering closely with executive leadership.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will oversee the day-to-day accounting function, lead the month-end close process, manage a team of accounting professionals, and drive process improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who combines strong technical accounting skills with an analytical mindset and a collaborative leadership style.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

  • Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals

  • Manage job cost accounting, work-in-process reporting, and cost allocations

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports

  • Support annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities

  • Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes

  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, inventory, customer service, IT, and finance leadership

  • Support financial system reporting and data integrity

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Prior experience managing or leading accounting staff

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls

  • Experience with job costing or operational accounting environments

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups, and large data analysis

  • ERP experience required; experience with Epicor, Hyperion, OneStream, or Adaptive Insights is a plus

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
