Accounting Manager

Position Details Shift: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pmCompensation: $77 - $95K annuallyLocation: 94-554 Ukee Street Waipahu, HI 96797ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Data Operations. (35%)Performs various financial or accounting functions, including financial analysis, month-end closings, and generation of financial/accounting reports. (35%)Directs the training and development of office staff. (15%)Participates and assists in the preparation of the annual budget. (5%)Provides PC support and assistance, including software and hardware installation and upgrades. (5%)Participates in period-end and quarterly inventories. (5%)Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and experience equivalent to:Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or universityExperience: 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience, including supervision, financial reports, and budget preparation.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):Generally accepted accounting principles (E)General accounting principles and practices (J)AS400, JDE and warehouse management computing environment (J)PC hardware and software concepts and techniques (J)Relevant department concepts and techniques (J)Skill and ability to:Serve as a team member, facilitator and/or leader as the team role warrantsLead a diverse workforce of approximately 10 employeesManage and motivate employees in a team-based environmentInterpret accounting or financial operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutionsPrepare a variety of comprehensive administrative and technical documents and reportsPrepare and deliver presentations to management, customers, regulatory agencies and other representatives of external organizationsAssist in developing capital improvement cost/benefit analyses and subsequent formsWork effectively in a general business environment with a focus on high levels of quality and customer serviceAct in accordance with GSF's Values and CreedLEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY Supervises 5 to 10 employees, including 3 to 7 direct reports.PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES Productivity/quality standards: accuracy, timeliness, thoroughnessBudgetPast due percentage not to exceed 10%Inventory varianceTeamwork within the department and across departmentsCustomer satisfactionEmployee development to meet GSF's projected near- and mid-term objectivesRecruitment and retention of workforce to meet GSF's diversity objectivesSafety of office employeesEqual Opportunity Employer We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
