Starting Salary: $28.82 hourly/ $59,945.60 annually

Representative Duties
- Analyzes and audits accounting and fiscal data, records and reports.
- Determines and requests staff, material, and equipment needs for operations and programs managed to contribute to the formulation and justification of budgetary requests for the agency as a whole.
- Develops and recommends new and revised statutes, rules, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness of the functions and programs managed and to respond to changes in operational program needs, objectives and priorities.
- Directs and coordinates the preparation of varied accounting and financial statements, summaries, and reports.
- Directs pre-auditing functions and other related accounting and clerical-accounting activities.
- Directs the development, modification, and installation of accounting and internal auditing systems.
- Directs the maintenance of subsidiary and general ledgers and related account maintenance.
- Establishes operational priorities, coordinate these operations with other functions within the agency, and to ensure that program objectives and standards are established and attained and are consistent with overall organizational goals. Leads specialized accounting projects and studies.
- Manages assigned accounting and financial functions, programs, and systems.
- Performs analysis to ensure payroll, finance and service bank accounts are all in sync.
- Processes and submits bi-weekly IRS tax deposit of employee federal taxes collected and initiates the related general ledger entries.
- Manages intake and payment distribution functions as well as ACH approval processes.
- Provides training and assistance as necessary to staff and external parties including BOCC departments.
- Schedules, assigns, monitors, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned subordinates.
Performs other duties as needed, including those performed by subordinate fiscal, financial, and/or clerical staff.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: A combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to meet the job-specific competencies noted above.
Preference may be given based on level of: (a) experience as a professional accountant, (b) education*, and (c) management or supervisor experience, as well as any professional designations**.
*Education such as a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a business-related field).
**Accounting or Auditing-related professional designations such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Certification, License and Special Requirements: As part of the consideration for this position, eligible candidates may be required to take an Accounting assessment test.
Physical Demands: The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects; may also require crouching, manual dexterity, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires incumbent to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. This position is fully on-site and requires regular presence in the office.
