We empower a diverse range of creators to imagine and develop culturally significant content, while building an organization that thrives on creative ideas, operational expertise and strategic thinking.JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager to serve as the operational backbone of our accounting function. This role sits between hands‑on execution and strategic oversight—you will both roll up your sleeves on core accounting tasks and take ownership of the close process, internal controls, and team coordination. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in general accounting, experience in digital media or a fast‑paced environment, and is ready to grow into a Controller-level role. A CPA license (active or in progress) is strongly preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES Own and manage the full monthly close process for different entities, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesOversee all core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliationsPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAPReview and analyze talent and creator contracts; review revenue share and participation statements and ensure proper revenue recognitionManage and coordinate staff accountants and at times senior accountants on day‑to‑day AP, AR, and reconciliation functionsWork cross‑functionally with sales, production, operations, and legal teams to ensure accurate accounting for diverse revenue streams (e.g., sponsorships, licensing, media sales)Review sales commission statements and support commissions reportingAssist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsSupport external audits and coordinate with tax advisors, shared services, and technical accounting teamsSupport systems implementations and process improvement initiativesProvide ad‑hoc analysis and reporting as needed by leadershipQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCPA license active or actively in progress strongly preferred5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacityExperience managing or coordinating outsourced or in‑house accounting staffStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition principlesAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage competing priorities effectivelyDESIRED SKILLS Experience in digital media, entertainment, or a high‑growth startup environmentFamiliarity with talent/creator contract structures and media revenue modelsExposure to financial audits and tax compliance processesInvolvement in ERP or accounting systems implementationsExperience working within a portfolio company or subsidiary of a larger organizationWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
