We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who can balance detailed, day?to?day accounting work with supportive team leadership. This role oversees core accounting functions, drives accuracy in financial reporting, and helps refine processes in a fast?paced, project?oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Support monthly/quarterly/year?end close processes and maintain consistent accounting policies
  • Act as a hands?on lead for AP and Payroll, reviewing work, coaching team members, and ensuring timely processing
  • Partner with operations to resolve discrepancies, improve workflows, and strengthen cross?functional communication
  • Maintain strong internal controls, assist with audits, and ensure compliance with tax, labor, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve systems, and increase overall efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with GL ownership
  • Experience in construction or project?based accounting (preferred)
  • Ability to review others’ work and provide day?to?day support (formal management not required)
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Exposure to job costing, project accounting, payroll, and multi?state compliance
  • Experience with collections, A/R analysis, and customer correspondence
  • Comfortable in a hands?on, growing operational environment
