Job Summary
The Manager of Corporate Accounting will work directly with the Regional Controller and be responsible for the general ledger accounting activities for the Companys 10 corporate holding companies. This position will be responsible for the oversight of a team and includes training and development of the team. The role will also work closely with the Global Consolidations and Financial Reporting teams during the month-end close consolidation and reporting processes under the direction of the Regional Controller. This role will be a key contact point person in cross departmental and global finance coordination efforts.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform month-end close activities reviewing and approving journal entries and reconciling accounts for US and Canada operating entities. • Coordinate the month-end accounting close and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP for submission to Quaker Corporate and other management reporting. • Lead SOX compliance for US and Canada entities to ensure accurate and timely completion of control activities. • Utilize JD Edwards knowledge to monitor integrity issues, maintain the Chart of Accounts COA, and request modifications to Automatic Accounting Instructions. • Supervise the preparation of various financial statements and schedules for external and internal financial reporting. • Oversee Quarterly balance sheet and P&L Flux analysis. • Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers and review balance sheet account reconciliations. • Assist with sales, personal property tax filings, IRS filings, governmental reports, and act as the primary contact with internal and external auditors. • Supervise daily cash and bank reconciliations and handle ad hoc requests from management.
Required Skills and Competencies
• Combination of public accounting and corporate industry experience preferred. • Strong knowledge of the month-end close and year-end processes, account analysis, and US GAAP financial statement preparation required. • Extensive knowledge of SOX-404 and experience in the manufacturing or the chemicals industry is a plus. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Advanced MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and knowledge of accounting systems such as JDE and Blackline preferred.
Education, Experience, and Training
• Bachelors degree in business, finance, or accounting; CPA required. • Required Minimum Number of Years of Relevant Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or chemicals company strongly preferred, showing progression in areas of responsibilities. Previous supervisory experience required.
