SummaryThis position will be responsible for managing all accounting operations and financial reporting activities of the company. The Accounting Manager ensures the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial records, maintains internal controls, oversees the close process, and ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. The role serves as the company's technical accounting authority within the greater finance organization.Financial Reporting and CloseManage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.Ensure proper revenue recognition, job cost accounting, and WIP reporting in accordance with GAAP and internal company policies.Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.Accounting OperationsManage day‑to‑day accounting functions including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets.Manage cash flow reporting and weekly cash position summaries.Partner with adjacent functions within Payroll, Project Accounting, and FP&A departments.Maintain the integrity of financial systems, chart of accounts, and accounting master data.Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.Provide key information to the Financial Planning and Analysis department to support the development of annual budgets and performance thereafter.Compliance, Internal Controls, and AuditsManage the design, implementation, maintenance, and adherence of the internal control environment governing financial statements.Coordinate annual audits, tax reporting schedules, and regulatory reporting requirements.Manage compliance with GAAP, contract requirements, bonding, and lender reporting.Team Leadership and DevelopmentBuild, lead, and develop a high‑performing accounting team.Establish clear roles, performance expectations, and professional development plans.Promote team engagement by creating a departmental culture of accountability, accuracy, and service to the business.Provide constructive and timely coaching, performance assessment and feedback.Responsible for the growth and development of direct reports. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance.Systems and Process ImprovementManage the identification and implementation of workflows for high‑volume functions (e.g., AP, AR, and month‑end close) to increase departmental efficiency and accuracy.Define data governance protocols to ensure the accuracy and security of financial datasets used for both AI‑driven and traditional reporting mechanisms.Manage the collection, review, and after‑actions related to key software partner SOC‑1 audit reports.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.7+ years experience in finance and/or accounting.Certified Public Accountant (CPA).3+ years experience leading an accounting/finance team.Financial expertise within the Construction or Industrial Trades industries.Proven ability to think strategically with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office 365 – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.Ability to lead and mentor a team.Preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMaster's degree.Experience with or working knowledge of Viewpoint Vista, Concur, GCPay, and Prophix software programs.Physical DemandsClearly communicate information (both written and verbal) to colleagues and key stakeholders.Stand and/or sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time; 50%+.Use a computer/laptop/iPad in an open office environment with natural or fluorescent lighting.Navigate between office building floors, and on occasion, attend off‑site meetings.Lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.Salary Range$100,000 to $125,000 annually, plus auto allowance and discretionary incentive program. Offer at the upper end of the range is uncommon.
