Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing organization. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing the month-end close process, improving accounting operations, ensuring inventory and cost accounting accuracy, and supporting the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses.
Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Assist with annual audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements.
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
Manage inventory accounting and oversee inventory reconciliations.
Analyze and maintain standard costs, bill of materials (BOMs), labor, and overhead allocations.
Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances, including material, labor, and overhead variances.
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve inventory controls and reporting accuracy.
Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls.
Lead initiatives to shorten close timelines and increase reporting efficiency.
Drive automation efforts and ERP system enhancements.
Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
Manage and mentor accounting staff while fostering professional development.
Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
Assist leadership with strategic initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within manufacturing, food & beverage, consumer products, or CPG environments.
Strong understanding of month-end close, inventory accounting, and cost accounting principles.
Experience analyzing COGS, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, and operational KPIs.
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
CPA designation preferred.
Experience in high-growth CPG, food & beverage, or manufacturing companies.
Experience with ERP implementations or system optimization projects.
Familiarity with NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
