Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and support the financial health of our growing manufacturing organization. Our company is dedicated to developing and manufacturing products that help make buildings safer, more secure, and more resilient. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting operational decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities.
Manufacturing Accounting
Oversee cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing overhead allocations.
Monitor inventory transactions and collaborate with operations to ensure accurate inventory records.
Support product costing, margin analysis, and operational performance reporting.
Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to improve cost controls and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements and reporting obligations.
Support regulatory and customer compliance requirements related to manufacturing operations.
Team Leadership
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
Establish performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Support
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
Support cash flow management and working capital optimization initiatives.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to evaluate business performance and support strategic growth initiatives.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Experience in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred
CPA or CMA designation.
Experience with ERP implementations or system enhancements.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and operational finance.
